In addition to the Prairie Center’s drug and alcohol treatment programs, we offer confidential HIV and AIDS testing at all three of our locations. We realize that it is important for potentially infected people to know their HIV and AIDS status in order to help reduce the risk of transmission to other partners. In order to combat the spread of HIV and AIDS we offer free testing to anyone receiving treatment in a substance abuse program.
Not only 
do we offer our clients HIV/AIDS testing performed by specially-trained, certified staff, the Prairie Center also offers education about HIV and AIDS and risk reduction. These sessions usually last around an hour. We offer rapid testing, which allows our clients to receive their test results within approximately 20 minutes. We also offer conventional testing which produces results in roughly 2 weeks.
