Charitable Giving
Prairie Center Health Systems, Inc. depends on donations from local individuals and businesses that support our mission. For eight years we have experienced this support at our Annual Golf Outing. In 2006 we started a new tradition of giving through an annual dinner-speaker format. Donations are accepted at any time throughout the year. Prairie Center accepts donations by cash, check, or credit card. Donors can designate the program or specific need they want their donation to support. Persons wanting to donate goods, property or other assets to Prairie Center may contact the Director of Development to discuss their wishes. Acknowledgements of each donation are sent to donors from the Development office. We do not distribute our donor lists to outside sources and honor the wishes of all anonymous donors.
As an Illinois not-for-profit 501-c-3 charitable organization, your donation to Prairie Center Health Systems, Inc. may be tax deductible. We ask that you consult your individual tax expert regarding your tax status.
All fundraising activities of Prairie Center fully comply with local, state, and federal requirements, all policies and procedures set forth by our governing Board of Directors and are based on the standards of ethical practice of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). Additionally, the accounting of all donations conforms to appropriate guidelines adopted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
Opportunities to Volunteer at our agency are very limited due to the confidential nature of alcohol and drug treatment. Persons wishing to volunteer are encouraged to contact the Development office to discuss possibilities.
The Prairie Center Annual Report documents programs, funding, fundraising activities and donations. Interested persons can review or obtain a copy at the Development office at 718 Killarney Street, Urbana, Illinois 61801 or by phoning (217) 693-3053.
