Dr. Narain Mandhan, Medical Director

 

Medical Director, Narain Mandhan, MD, is a Board Certified Physician in both Internal Medicine and Addictions Medicine. As Medical Director, Dr. Mandhan oversees the treatment of all clients receiving substance abuse treatment services at the Prairie Center, including the residential treament unit. Dr. Mandhan serves as faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign's College of Medicine. He educates the Medical Residents he surpervises in the field of addiction. Residents work at the Prairie Center under his supervision, and are able to take forward into their practices knowledge of addiction and related issues, as well as how their patients' lives and health are impacted by such issues.

Dr. Mandhan attended medical school at Sindh Medical College in his home country of Pakistan, and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  Mandhan was named a “Rural Physician of Excellence” by the Illinois Rural Health Association in 2007. Additionally, he practices at John and Mary Kirby Hospital, critical access hospital in Monticello.
